Nature etiquette

A few well-intentioned pieces of advice help to ensure that all visitors can continue to enjoy the beautiful landscape.

Many visitors to the Kaiserstuhl and Tuniberg are nature lovers. Certain rules are important for friends of nature to preserve the special features:

  • Stay on the paths in nature reserves and take the opportunity to observe the plants and insects along the way.

  • Show consideration for each other, especially mountain bikers and hikers.

  • Of course, never observe bee-eaters and hoopoes at their nests or wait there with a camera - this disturbs the magnificent animals in their breeding business.

  • Quarries in nature reserves may not be visited off the beaten track; the Niederrotweiler quarry is only accessible between 1 August and 31 January.

  • Do not disturb the winegrower at work and do not walk cross-country through the vines.
